Previous Offending

Previous Offending
Past offending is the most important guide to future offending. We therefore looks closely at previous patterns of offending and put in place plans to manage offenders appropriately.

Accurate assessment lies at the heart of what we do.  This involves ensuring that the reasons for offenders committing crime are fully explored at both pre- and post-sentence stage and that and harm by offenders under supervision.

The successful delivery of probation interventions rests on the foundation of careful and accurate assessment by the offender manager.

Our offender managers collect as much relevant information as possible about an offender including full details of the offender’s criminal history.  A risk management plan is put into place to reduce the risk of re-offending

The offender manager uses the initial assessment to produce a sentence plan that is matched to the offender’s needs and identifies appropriate priorities.
