Equality and Diversity

Wiltshire Probation Trust serves a population of around half a million people. We work with offenders throughout the Criminal Justice System, be that before sentence or assessment stage, during a community sentence, during a prison sentence and after release, through re-integrating offenders into the community.

We fully embrace diversity and are working hard to create a truly inclusive organisation. We support the work of groups such as Lesbians and Gays in Probation, the Association of Black Probation Officers, the National Association of Probation Officers and the National Association for Asian Probation Staff. We also value and support the work of Race Equality Councils and other Criminal Justice diversity organisations.

Our work is about transforming lives, and this starts with our staff. Our aim is to value everyone regardless of who they are; their origin, ethnicity, gender, sexuality and background. We see beyond any ‘labels’ recognising that each individual has a unique contribution to make. We have extensive development opportunities including Positive Action for individuals in under-represented parts of the organisation and there are local and national support groups available for staff to join.
