The role of the Wiltshire Probation Trust Board is to provide clear leadership and governance of the Wiltshire Probation Trust.

The Board is an independent body responsible for the appropriate management of the budget and employing all Wiltshire Probation Trust staff. The values of the National Probation Service are wholly supported by the Board and these underpin and shape its approach to assisting the executive in formulating strategy and in policy making.

Board members live and work in the area and have at heart the interests and concerns of the people of Wiltshire and Swindon. Our members include council representatives, magistrates, local business people and other individuals. The Chief Executive of Wiltshire Probation Trust is also a member of the Board. The Trust Board is proud of Wiltshire’s status as a holder of the Investor in People quality award (bronze) and is determined to continue to follow the principles of staff development embedded in the award.

The Trust Board meets ten times a year. The first part of these meetings are open for the public to attend as observers.
